On October 18, 2014, I participated in a hike arranged by the "San Diego Day Hikers" group on meetup.com in Santa Ysabel Open Space Preserve East, and led by Ranger Bret Exner.
The hike was one-way, from the Farmer Road trailhead to the Highway 79 trailhead, a distance of seven or eight miles along the trails. The route is mostly along a section of the Coast to Crest Trail. The waypoints were taken along this trail. The track was taken along the return trip, which was by car along Highway 79, Highway 78/79, Wynola Road and Farmer Road.
