On December 8, 2013, I walked most of the roads and trails in Canyon Hills Open Space. It occupies a hill (sometimes called Miramar Hill) which is bounded roughly as follows:
This preserve is still undeveloped. There is very little signage, but there are picnic tables along the main road through the preserve.
I started the survey by driving around the area and tracking at 0.02-mile intervals. This was necessary because most streets in this area are not on the topographic map.
I also surveyed a small bike path, which I call the Alemania Bike Path because it begins at the north end of Alemania Road. I had surveyed this path before, on December 31, 2002. It had not changed in any significant way.
