an "exploratory" hike to the California Riding & Hiking Trail
just W of Cuyamaca Rancho State Park

[we started at the Merigan Trailhead on Viejas Blvd about 9:15 AM]

[we went N on Merigan FR, then N on Dead Horse Trail, stopping briefly at
the falls on the Sweetwater River]

return to trailhead about 1:15 7.18 miles [estimate is low because
GPS was still acquiring when we set out]

[I drive up to the N end of Tanglewood Ln to a place where the road beyond
is unpaved and marked as private property. I turn around and start to
record lat/lon in the GPS.]

There are some small markers, but not every turn is marked.]

[R on Descanso Trail, SA at junction with Hulburd Grove Rd, where there is
no sign for Hulburd Grove Rd, L on Burrell Way, merges with SB Boulder Creek Rd,
R on Oak Grove Dr, merges with Viejas Grade Rd]
