On March 31, 2012, after an uneventful hike on Clevenger Canyon South Trail, I went over to San Pasqual Valley to check out the trail there.

Several years ago, I rode this trail and was pleased to encounter some ripe oranges on trees beside the trail, with a sign explicitly allowing trail users to pick them. Unfortunately, by the time of this survey, those trees were no longer there, or the trail had been moved away from them. So no free oranges, even though they were in season.

I started from the center of the parking lot at the staging area just off Bandy Canyon Road near Highway 78 (N 33 5.514 W 116 57.390). I walked along San Pasqual Valley Trail as far as the place where it starts to run gith next to Bandy Canyon Road (N 33 5.032 W 116 57.810), and then returned along Bandy Canyon Road. The total distance was only 1.81 miles.
