On March 6, 2011, I participated in a hike from San Diego Country Estates to Cedar Creek Falls sponsored by the Take a Hike group on meetup.com. The starting point is a trailhead under construction on Thornbush Rd. in San Diego Country Estates.

We followed a well-trodden trail to Cedar Creek Falls, and I surveyed the trail on the way back. Much of the trail is an informal path, which is currently being upgraded and replaced by a real trail. Hence our route follows the official trail in some places, but not others.

The trail has three major stream crossings over the San Diego River and Cedar Creek. I stumbled and fell twice. The use of waders and a hiking pole (which I did not have) are recommended.

The data have been plotted on a topo that also bears the route of an earlier hike to the Devil's Jumpoff.
