On January 24, 2009, I participated in a nature walk in Mine Wash conducted by the San Diego Natural History Museum Canyoneers.
I had never heard of Mine Wash, and it's pretty easy to miss. But it's worth visiting.
Actually, I did very little surveying. But I did locate the most interesting part of the USGS topo.
