I come to a locked gate and fence with a little space to one side of the gate end of this part, I cross the street and walk S on the other side 35-235-3-668 R into a signed trailhead 237-667 281-668 310-677 324-696 35--349--3--788 previously encountered junction, end of this part, I go back the way I came without calling lat/lon [change to 35-348-3-791! to match previous reading] 2.21 miles back at the parking area about 10:35 AM 2.27 miles I go back upstream on my mountain bike 3.08 miles at previously surveyed junction 35--325--3--639 [change to 35-330-3-645 to match previous reading] continuing E along S side of river 327-576 327-541-"A" small side trail to L, it's very muddy, so I keep to the R 324-497-"B" side trail L, R appears to be main trail, I keep R 306-475 284-467-"C" side trail R, I turn R 291-486! trail ends, this is a view point with a wooden fence, end of this part, I take a few pics and then turn around back at place where I turned R [284-467], I continue on main trail pond [Le May Pond] to my L, and one of the trails not taken goes closer to that pond I'll probably follow it on the way back [I didn't] 281-404 270-368 35-256-3-268-"D" fork, SA goes along some power lines, L goes down into the valley and appears to be the main trail, I take the L fork 269-244 tiny trail L which may be a social trail 255-120 259-100-"E" I enter a causeway across a pond 259-91 250-36 35-247-2-996-"F" at the approximate end of the causeway, the trail splits I turn L and ride through a very muddy area 251-986 246-973 I rejoin the main trail, there was no need for all that mud! 230-930 219-872 219-870-"G" trail to R, possible the other end of trail along power lines 207-832 35-220-2-756-"H" T intersection, I turn R 211-750 side path R, probably power line access only, I keep L 223-704 225-645-"I" side trail L, apparently a social trail 225-589 225-544-"J" side trail R, apparently for power line access 226-506 212-477 232-362 35-234-2-339 trail L appears to be main trail, I go SA 231-320 230-276 I am walking up a very steep and rocky road 236-256 road comes to freeway ROW fence and turns R there is a hole in the fence, but I stay on this side 199-259 35-172-2-284! I come to a fenced and gated access point on a residential street, end of this part, I turn around I turn R onto the main path [35-234-2-339] 263-336 dense eucalyptus grove to my R, but the path veers L the grove also appears to be an informal campground 341-374 what looks like a little social trail R going US, I keep L to stay on the main trail 341-415 330-445 stream crossing, which may be Otay River 337-464 374-509 stream crossing 376-523 35-389-2-530 T intersection, I turn R 417-495 another, larger stream crossing 426-479 the main trail appears to go R, SA is what appears to be an indefinite alternate trail on higher ground, I keep R 417-463 431-360 450-329 35-477-2-325! trail ends on a street, and this is apparently where the other end of the trail not taken joins this one I turn R and follow this street to its first intersection at first intersection this is Rancho Dr, to L is Rancho Ct, I turn around 321 is the last number on L before the trailhead past the trailhead, the first number on R is 271C back at trailhead [35-477-2-325], I continue E on what looks like a fairly good trail under the freeway [I-805] 482-273 456-198 to my L just E of the ROW fence is an informal path leading to this one, I know it is informal because there is a hole in the ROW fence I continue under the freeway 460-173 485-157! end of this part, the trail ends, I could continue, to L i'd have to go through a hole in the ROW fence, to R I'd have to go through a hole in a fence around Chula Vista Crossing Shopping Center I turn around and go back the way I came back at trailhead [35-477-2-325], I follow the alternate way back 445-443 420--490 back at a previously surveyed junction, end of this part, I continue but stop calling lat/lon [change to 426-479! to match previous reading] 395--532 previously surveyed intersection, I keep R to go the other way [change to 35-389-2-530 to match previous reading] 403-552 well-beaten path R, apparently leading to a mountain bike play area 35-367-2-579 triangular junction, I turn R 399-612 to my L is a rather large church 35-461-2-630 trailhead parking area with porta-potty, room for about 12 cars including one handicapped, I continue out the unpaved access road 477-636 471-696! access road emerges on a paved [N-S] street, end of this part, I ride up and down the street to find out where I am I turn L and take a picture of the church, Iglesia Ni Cristo Church of Christ I turn around and then go N past the entrance to the trailhead T intersection, this is Rios Ave, LR is Otay Valley Rd, I turn around and return to the trail back at the triangle [35-367-2-579] I turn R and continue DS 344-650 35-331-2-755-junction large junction, side trail across river L, street access R, street is probably Palm Ave, but I don't check it out, I go SA 346-854 347-893 what looks like street access R [probably Date St] 349-995 side trail R, I continue SA 369-24 another side trail R, I continue SA 411-117 side road R merging with this at an angle, I continue SA 408-153 dry stream crossing 424-155 T intersection, to R may be other end of one of those side trails, I turn L 454-214-"K" side trail L, I continue SA, street access R 464-241! yellow tape across path, ahead is a large level vacant lot, apparently a future trailhead parking area, end of this part, I ride north on the street to check it out T intersection, this is Mace St, RL is Main St I turn L and continue on Main St back at Beyer Blvd trailhead at 12:41 PM [35-271-4-322], maileage 10.19 I'm going downstream on trail on S side of river 299-331 284-432 main trail apparently goes R, but there's a lesser trail SA, I turn R 295-440 297-480 there's a pond [Fenton Pond] to my right 294-514 308-550 trail turns R, fainter trail L, I stay R 339-557 351-517 I'm on the other side of that pond, going US 356-414 349-400! path comes to an abrupt end, end of this part, I turn around 355-526 I turn R into a previously encountered, but unrecorded side trail and go roughly N along a fence line, with fence to my L 434-533! the trail emerges on a paved road that curves here, I turn R and go approximately N on the road first intersection, this is 27th St, LR is Faivre St end of this part, I turn around [the paved road probably goes into the Hanson Aggregates plant and continues through to Hollister St, where it is gated] 35--305--4--546 previously encountered trail junction SW of pond, I go S on a trail that is on the map [change to 308-550 to mnatch previous reading] 245-555 T intersection, I turn L 248-477 274-455 283--427 previously encountered junction, end of this part, I turn around [change to 284-432! to match previous reading] I pass the T [245-555], it's not very obvious from this side 246-637 side road L, apparently goes up to a street, I go SA as shown on the map 247-752 228-789! way is blocked by a fence, end of this part, I turn around I turn R into that side road [246-637] 179-645 side path R, but it doesn't look too promising, I continue SA 146-642 114-649 35-36-4-650! I come to a locked gate and a pretty good fence, beyond is a fairly busy street and on the other side is what looks like a continuation of this road, this is Palm Ave, and on the other side to my L I can see Desty St I look for a way out yes, to my R, to the W, I find another gate with a torn-down fence next to it, I turn R on Palm Ave and stop calling lat/lon R on Hollister St 35-461-5-54 I enter a signed trailhead on the W side of Hollister N of river 463-61 side trail L, I turn L 429-89 L a little trail going back to Hollister which I noted previously but did not record 465-132 T intersection, R goes back to the place where I turned L, I turn L to continue DS [draw line to 463-61! and then restart at 465-132] Hollister Pond is to my L 464-274 I begin a passage under I-5 470-286 other side of I-5 469-325 466-404 412-409-crossing water crossing that is nearly awash 401-435 side path L, I follow the larger path apparently due W 35-412-5-555! path emerges on the Saturn Bike Path, end of this part, I turn around I turn R into the side path [401-435] there are quite a few paths here, I follow what appears to be the largest 249-443 I come to a fence at the edge of an industrial area [Southland Plaza], L is a very small path, R is a larger path, I turn R 262-554 path emerges on Saturn Bike Path, I stop calling lat/lon
