The southern part of C-125 is called the South Bay Expressway. It is a toll road, the only one in San Diego County. The southernmost part, between Birch Road and Otay Mesa Road, is open to bicycle, and there is no toll for bicycles.
I rode this part of the expressway when it opened, and returned to survey it on my bicycle.
After riding the expressway, I explored an area called Ocean View Hills. The connection between Ocean View Hills Parkway and Otay Mesa Road was not open, but I managed to get through. It is probably open on the date of this writing (October 20, 2009).
